Organizations
- Oregon Dressage Society (ODS) – the oldest United States Dressage Federation GMO (Group Member Organization) in the country, ODS has chapters throughout the state. “The purpose of the Oregon Dressage Society is to educate, promote and inspire its members and the general public through programs, publications and competitions, in a way that enhances the image of Dressage and promotes the welfare of the horse.”
- United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) – the national governing body for most equestrian sports in the United States.
- United States Dressage Federation (USDF) – the national membership federation for the equestrian sport of dressage. Running under the USEF, the Federation is committed to education, recognition of achievement and promotion of dressage in the United States.
- 2019 USDF Dressage Tests, Introductory through Fourth Level + Freestyles, Pas de Deux, Quadrille, and Developing / Young Horse Tests. These tests are updated every four years and are effective through 11/30/2022.
- USDF Region 6 – The USDF has divided the country into nine regions for competition purposes. Region 6 is comprised of Alaska, Idaho, Oregon, Washington, and Western Montana.
- USDF Rider Awards – This program (Bronze, Silver, and Gold Medals) awards medals to riders achieving scores from First Level through Grand Prix.
- 2022 USDF Member Guide – Includes information about dressage education, awards, and championships.
- Fédération Equestre Internationale (FEI) – the international governing body of equestrian sports. The FEI headquarters are in Lausanne, Switzerland. An FEI code of conduct protects the welfare of the horses from physical abuse or doping
- FEI Dressage Tests, Prix St. Georges through Grand Prix + Freestyes, JR / YR, Young Horse Tests
- Para Dressage Tests, Grade I through Grade V
- Western Dressage Association of America (WDAA) – The WDAA focuses on educating about and promoting Western Dressage. Programs for Horse Lifetime Points and various Awards.
- 2022 Western Dressage Tests, Intro Level through Level 5 + Freestyles, Therapeutic Riding Tests, and Dressage Seat Equitation. These tests are effective for four years.
- The Dressage Foundation – A non-profit organization that provides financial support through grants to dressage riders, instructors, judges, breeders, show managers, and dressage clubs with the goal of advancing dressage in the United States.
